EDF Renewables North America (EDF R) invites energy buyers and industry innovators to participate in its 2024 Behind-the-Meter (BTM) Request for Proposals (RFP), Project Arete. This initiative focuses on maximizing the potential of nine operational renewable energy assets, with a combined capacity of over 1.1 GW, across ISOs including PJM, MISO, CAISO, SPP, and AESO.
About the RFP
Named after the Greek concept of “excellence,” Project Arete aims to identify BTM energy solutions that align with EDFR’s mission to lead the transition to a sustainable energy future. The RFP is a continuation of EDFR’s innovative projects, such as 2022’s Project Tumbleweed and 2023’s Project Champagne, which explored cutting-edge BTM applications like data centers and Direct Air Capture technologies.

- Development synergies and reduced facility capital expenditures
- Participants are responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining their BTM systems and must demonstrate expertise in utility coordination, project financial analysis, and operational safety.
